Why you'll like it

How it plays

Patchwork is a two-player game about making a quilt. In the middle of the table is a circle of fabric patches in different shapes, like Tetris pieces. On your turn you buy one of the three patches in front of the pawn, pay buttons for it, and fit it onto your 9x9 quilt board.

Each patch also costs time. Instead of taking turns in order, whoever is behind on the time track takes the next turn, so cheap-but-slow patches and expensive-but-fast patches are a real trade-off. Some patches have buttons on them, which pay you income at points on the track.

At the end, you score your buttons and lose points for empty squares on your quilt. A game takes about 30 minutes.
