How it plays

Cat in the Box is a trick-taking card game inspired by Schrödinger's cat. Cards have numbers but no colors. When you play a card, you declare its color, and you mark it on a shared grid.

Each number and color combination can only exist once. If you can't play a valid card, a paradox happens and the round ends badly for you. Before each round you bet how many tricks you'll win. It's a clever twist on classic trick-taking.
