Why you'll like it

How it plays

In 7 Wonders, each player leads an ancient civilization and builds toward one of the Seven Wonders. The game is played in three ages. In each age you get a hand of cards, pick one to keep and play, and pass the rest to your neighbor.

Because everyone picks at the same time, turns are fast even with seven players. Cards give you resources, military strength, science symbols, buildings worth points, or trade advantages. You can buy resources you don't have from the players next to you, so your neighbors matter more than anyone else at the table.

After the third age, you add up points from several sources: military wins, science sets, buildings, your wonder stages and coins. There are many ways to win, which keeps it interesting over many plays.

Common questions

How many players is 7 Wonders best with?

It supports 2 to 7 players and really shines with 4 to 7. For exactly two players, 7 Wonders Duel is the better choice.

How long does 7 Wonders take?

About 30 minutes, and that barely changes with more players, because everyone takes their turn at the same time.

Is 7 Wonders easy to teach?

The turn is simple (pick a card, pass the rest), but the scoring has several parts. Expect the first game to be a learning game.
