The As d'Or — Jeu de l'Année is awarded each year at the Festival International des Jeux in Cannes. A jury of French critics selects winners across several tiers, including a main public award, an "Initié" category for more involved games, and an expert category. It is the most significant board game award in the French-speaking world.

What this award means for you

As d'Or winners often surface excellent games that take longer to reach English-language audiences, making this a good award to watch for discovering something your group has not already played.
