Why you'll like it

How it plays

The White Castle is a compact dice-placement game set in feudal Japan. Players compete for the favor of the lord of Himeji Castle over three short rounds.

Each turn you take a die from either end of a bridge and place it on an action space of the same color. Dice higher than the space earn coins, and lower dice cost coins. Actions let you send courtiers up the castle's floors, train warriors and activate gardeners, often triggering chain reactions. With only nine turns in the whole game, every move counts.
