How it plays

Nucleum is a heavy economic game set in an alternate 19th-century Europe where uranium powers steam turbines. Players build a rail network linking cities and power plants, supplying energy and earning money.

Its key idea is dual-use tiles: each tile can be placed above your player board to take its actions and increase your income, or flipped to its rail side and laid on the map as a connection, triggering its actions if the colors match. That makes every tile a tough choice. Players also unlock technologies and contracts that plug into their boards. Experienced players often compare it to Brass.
