In the Footsteps of Darwin is a light tile-drafting game. Players are young naturalists helping Darwin write his book. Tiles are laid out in a 3x3 grid, and the Beagle ship moves around the outside.
On your turn, you take a tile from the row or column facing the Beagle, then the ship moves. Animal tiles go into your notebook according to their habitat and class, and character tiles give bonuses. Completing rows or columns earns publications. After twelve turns, the player with the most points wins.
