Captain Sonar is a real-time team game in which two submarine crews hunt each other. Each player on a team has a role: the captain steers, the first mate charges weapons and systems, the engineer manages breakdowns, and the radio operator listens to the enemy captain's moves to work out where they are.
Teams act at the same time, so the game is noisy and tense. You win by hitting the enemy submarine enough times with torpedoes and mines. There's also a turn-based mode for groups who want it calmer. It's best with a full group of 8 players.
