A deck-thinning game — your starting deck is full of artichokes, and you win by drawing a hand with zero artichokes. Buy vegetable cards that help remove artichokes from your deck through various powers. The goal of emptying rather than building your deck is refreshingly different.

In Abandon All Artichokes, your deck starts full of artichoke cards, and your goal is to get rid of them. Each turn you take a vegetable from the garden row and play cards for their effects.
Each vegetable lets you discard or compost artichokes in a different way. The first player to draw a hand with no artichokes wins. It's a short, two-to-four-player deck-building game that's a good introduction to the genre.
